Project365 #218

Tonight was a trip to Naama Bay. One of the tourist destinations of Sharm El Sheikh.

For anyone that’s never been to Naama Bay, imagine the same half a dozen shops multiplied by 100, all full of tat. On top of that imagine every single shopkeeper coming out and trying to sell you said tat.

This poster caught my eye, in Naama Bay you only have to pop to the pharmacy for your Viagra and steroids…

Also, in an attempt to integrate into Eygptian life we went into Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. Cushty.

If there is one picture that has to be taken when on holiday it is the ‘view from the balcony’ picture. Here it is…

Please note this is not ‘the’ pool, this is merely ‘a’ pool. ‘The’ pool is massive, AND with a pool bar.

Going on holiday was always going to be a bit iffy in regards Project365. Would I be able to post pictures without racking up a massive phone bill on return to the UK? Would Wi-Fi be available? As it works out it has been fine.

In fact, it’s found its place in the day; that time of day as the sun goes down, when you leave the pool and have a cocktail before dinner and the evening’s entertainment.

Today’s picture: we went on a bus. But not just any old bus. An Egyptian bus.

It has no doors. It has no windows. It has no seatbelts. But it does have a roof and some benches. And you can always hang on to the side if there’s no room to sit down…

We are staying at a hotel called Tiran Island Hotel, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Although today you could have been mistaken in thinking we were staying at Fawlty Towers, Torquay, England.

It has been a day of disasters. However, there is still water in the pool, which is a surprise in itself…
