Janathon Day 20

Ironic (adjective) happening in a way that contrary to what is expected, and typically causing wry amusement because of this.

Avid followers of this blog will know that yesterday I may have mentioned that I was going to do parkrun this morning.

I didn’t.

I woke up on time, I can’t use that as an excuse. My pathetic excuse was that it looked really cold out. Plus we had quite a busy day full of stuff, so a slow start to the morning sounded just fine.

I did of course go for a run today, it’s day 20 of Janathon and I’m determined to run every day. So instead of parkrun I did 5km on the treadmill.

What’s ironic about that you ask?

I listened to a podcast on the treadmill: The Outdoors Fix.

Janathon Day 19

The end of a long week. With parkrun in the morning I decided on a gentle little 3 mile loop of the village.

Despite the cold I did manage to take my gloves off for the odd picture.

Sheep have arrived on one of the fields.

Ran down to the river – it was very still.

It was getting dark by the time I finished.

Janathon Day 17

This evening’s run was quite an adventure…

Dark Country Lanes + Fading Headtorch = Near Death Experiences

Managed to survive long enough to do a big 5 mile loop of the village.

As much as sometimes getting out every day can be a bit of a chore, it definitely improves your fitness pretty quickly, I’m feeling strong at the moment.

Day 17 is complete.

Janathon Day 16

It was always going to be tricky to get today’s run in. Full day teaching, followed by parents’ evening. If I had thought about it a bit I probably would have done an early morning run, but I didn’t think about it, so it was a treadmill run when I finally got home.

3 gentle miles on the treadmill.

Janathon Day 15

It was one of those days where if I wasn’t actually taking part in Janathon then the run wouldn’t have happened. It was a full day teaching followed by a Samaritans evening duty.

So it was laps of the school field as soon as the bell went for the end of day. As I was doing about half mile laps I took the opportunity to turn it into a speed session: alternating between slow and fast.

3.1 miles in all. Another day done.
