Today’s picture was taken on this morning’s very cold dog walk. Frosty and an icy wind.

First in the yearly challenge is the cinema.

Cinema City to see Hamnet.

Everyone was raving about the book when it came out in 2020. Unfortunately, I missed the boat and never got round to reading it. Therefore, I was heading to Cinema City with no idea, except knowing Hamnet was the son of Shakespeare, of what to expect.

It was a bit slow places, speculative, but moving and definitely a couple of BAFTAs on the way.

We’ve always tried to do a monthly challenge every year:

2023 – Gigs

2024 – Cinema

2025 – Theatre

This year we’ve gone for something more fluid. More things. Less rules.

Let me introduce to you…

‘26 in 26’

The plan is to attend 26 of the following through the course of 2026:

• Gig
• Cinema
• Theatre
• Comedy
• Poetry

So that is at least two a month, plus an extra two.

It was a miserable morning. The local parkrun had been cancelled because it was flooded. So it was laps of the slightly waterlogged playing field.
