Two thirds done.

It was another lovely evening; the weather has definitely made Juneathon a bit easier this year. Not one run in the rain yet.

Of course, I understand that just by saying this it will piss it down all day tomorrow.

Today, after watching ‘Glastonbury: 50 years and counting’ last night, Florence came along for a run.

It wouldn’t be a run without a Strava badge. Today the ‘Make Your Comeback Challenge’ as part of the This Girl Can club!?

It was an early evening pootle around the village before heading into town to get some chippy chips. Cushty.

It was a 6am run this morning for a couple of reasons:

1. It was going to be warm – 30 deg – so didn’t fancy that at the end of the day.
2. Out tonight for drinks.

The alarm went off at 5.50am and as much as I wasn’t really looking forward to it, once outside it was all good.

A lovely 5m run following the normal route. Increasing the pace as the miles got done.

By the time 5pm came around it was slightly cooler – perfect for a gentle 4-miler.

Another down to the river and back.

Since living in the village there has been a myth about a ferry that will take you across the river. I have never seen said ferry…until today.

The image in my head was one of Charon crossing the River Styx carrying the souls of the newly deceased who have received their rites of burial.

In reality it looks like this.

Although I couldn’t see Charon, he may have upgraded his boat and was at the bar waiting for the dead.

Back to the run, it was a lovely. I like feeling the sun on your back as you pootle along. And…got me another Strava badge.

Not a lot of time to get the run in today. Full day at school, followed by after-school meeting, followed by dinner, followed by Samaritans branch meeting.

There was a little window between getting in from work and having dinner. So it was the usual getting it done 3+ mile run followed by a very quick shower!
