Book 1 of 2026

‘Waves’ by Sharon Dogar

Teenage fiction. I didn’t really like this book. It’s a sort of thriller about a teenager who had a surfing accident and ended up in a coma. However, she can sort of communicate with her younger sibling. Cue lots of repetitive ‘I thought I could hear her…I felt her…something seemed wrong…blah blah blah…’.

Not the best start to the reading year!

Janathon Day 11

It was a cold morning so I headed to the garage for a treadmill run.

The plan was a 30min run, so I thought I’d include an incline as well. Initially set it for 10% but it soon became obvious that that was probably a little too steep, so it soon became 7%.

All good.

In other news…

Kerry did yoga.

First in the yearly challenge is the cinema.

Cinema City to see Hamnet.

Everyone was raving about the book when it came out in 2020. Unfortunately, I missed the boat and never got round to reading it. Therefore, I was heading to Cinema City with no idea, except knowing Hamnet was the son of Shakespeare, of what to expect.

It was a bit slow places, speculative, but moving and definitely a couple of BAFTAs on the way.
