Project365 #45

Today’s picture: the track I’m making on the local playing field.

Just recently I’ve taken to running laps and laps and laps of my local playing field when I go for a run.

Today it was 20.

Why the hell do you do that? I hear you ask.

Well, let me explain:

  • The playing field is right opposite the house so it’s very convenient.
  • The village has no paths or lights, so I when I’ve got headphones on, I’m always looking out for traffic. On the field I can put the headphones on and not worry about being wiped out by a passing tractor!
  • Builds resilience. The lap is only about 400m, so you end up doing quite a few.
  • It’s also on grass, which is good for the joints, but power sapping, so you get a good workout.

Janathon Day 4

It was a late run. First proper day – kids all back. Felt a bit hectic at times.

Completely dark once I got out, plus the headtorch was slowly fading as the run went on. At one stage I nearly broke an ankle by running into a speed bump! There was a small post indicating a speed bump was there – although I didn’t put two and two together at the time.

Felt pretty tired on the run, which I’m putting down to first full day of teaching for a couple of weeks. 3.7 mile run. Done.

Today’s Bob Ross:

You should be able to see me sitting on floor following speed bump incident.

A lovely gentle 6 mile run this morning on the trails. The last run before the Chiltern Challenge 100km on Saturday.

A couple of things to do before then:

  • Get kit sorted
  • Check the weather forecast every couple of hours
