Juneathon Day 28

Managed another new activity today. I was back on the online classes for a ‘legs’ class.

Caroline put me through my paces with squats, fire hydrants, strides, lunges, glute bridges, and a plethora of other leg exercises.

Knackered.

Juneathon Day 27

We a slowly trundling to the end of Juneathon. Today’s activity was sandwiched between a busy day at work, dinner and an evening Samaritans duty.

It ended up being a 3.3 mile run around the village. Not the new activity I was hoping for – I just wanted to go for a gentle run.

I’m hoping for a strong finish to Juneathon. Something different for the remaining three days. Defo.

Juneathon Day 26

When the idea was suggested that I should do a bit of yoga for Juneathon, I jumped at the chance.

I’ve never done any kind of yoga, plus I’m always up for having a go at something new. Also, this was in the form of a video class which made it all the easier to give it a go.

So we powered up the laptop, plugged it into the TV and let Andrea talk us through a ‘Ying Yang Yoga Session’.

It wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. Although, I didn’t really know what to expect!

She had us in various positions; some of them quite challenging. We were doing lots of ‘grounding’, ‘focused breathing’ and various other bits of nonsense.

At one stage we were repeating the phrases: ‘May I be gentle with myself’, ‘May I be gentle with others’ and ‘May I be gentle as I look into the world around me’.

This ‘Ying Yang Yoga’ is probably not for me.

Namaste.

Juneathon Day 24

Back on the bike today. I was on the bike earlier on in the month, however that time it was just a short ride. Today was a long bike ride. That counts as a different activity, right?

A ride to the Queens Head in Thurlton for refreshments, and back again. 12 miles.

Juneathon Day 23

It was a warm one today and I really wanted to just go for a lovely run in the sun when I got home.

Forget about trying to do a different activity and just go for a run.

That’s exactly what I did.

3.6 mile gentle run to the river and back. Nice.
