Just for general wonderings…
Very busy day, followed by a shop in Tesco. So it was a treadmill run today.

Tonight I ran on a track. Yep, I get it, not the most amazing place to run. But this was no ordinary track, let me explain…
Now I’ve run on plenty of tracks, I’m a teacher, so I often take advantage of the facilities. The current school I work at has a track, I’ve not managed to get out on it until now.
The initial plan was to do various laps alternating between fast and slow so that I completed a lovely interval session. That was the plan, however we all know that things don’t always go to plan.
I put bag and water bottle on the inside of the track and began a gentle warm-up. It wasn’t long before it became obvious that the track wasn’t as it seemed. It was not a 400m lap. The straights were very short, probably only 10m in length.

There was also a straight bit of track attached to the loop – I assume to make a 100m ‘straight’.
So my time was taken up trying to work out what the actual lap was. I think the lap was 200m which is ridiculous.

After travelling back from a few days camping in North Norfolk there was barely any time left for today’s activity.
So, it was a 5 mile cycle – big loop of the village.

The plan this month is to do as many different activities as possible:
Not sure I can come up with 30 different activities! But I’m going to have a go!
Parkrun day. Well, I’ve not been to Parkrun for ages, so today was a bit of a novelty.
The lovely Holkham Parkrun on the North Norfolk coast.
It was a beautiful 3.1 mile Parkrun course.

Didn’t want to go crazy made on a really fast one – I’m supposed to be on holiday for a few days! So started off reasonably gently and got faster for each mile. Which meant I was overtaking people all the way. Love that!
Two walks in North Norfolk.
One to the pub.

One back again.

7.3 miles in total.
‘Hinton Hollow Death Trip’ by Will Carver

I love a Will Carver novel: always dark and always entertaining.
This was exactly that. Five days in the life of Hinton Hollow, a small rural town, visited by evil itself.
It is another novel in the Detective Sergeant Pace series. No spoilers here – just read it!
