Janathon Day 17

This evening’s run was quite an adventure…

Dark Country Lanes + Fading Headtorch = Near Death Experiences

Managed to survive long enough to do a big 5 mile loop of the village.

As much as sometimes getting out every day can be a bit of a chore, it definitely improves your fitness pretty quickly, I’m feeling strong at the moment.

Day 17 is complete.

Janathon Day 16

It was always going to be tricky to get today’s run in. Full day teaching, followed by parents’ evening. If I had thought about it a bit I probably would have done an early morning run, but I didn’t think about it, so it was a treadmill run when I finally got home.

3 gentle miles on the treadmill.

Janathon Day 15

It was one of those days where if I wasn’t actually taking part in Janathon then the run wouldn’t have happened. It was a full day teaching followed by a Samaritans evening duty.

So it was laps of the school field as soon as the bell went for the end of day. As I was doing about half mile laps I took the opportunity to turn it into a speed session: alternating between slow and fast.

3.1 miles in all. Another day done.

Book 1 of 2024

‘The Beresford’ by Will Carver

The first book of the year is one of my Christmas presents. I love Will Carver.

This book is great: you should definitely give it a read.

You’re not going to get any spoilers here. All I would say is that it is horrific, funny, intense, brilliant and everything in between.

Janathon Day 14

Had a few options for today’s run: very early start and local run, reasonably early start for the local run, or drive to the coast for a run by the beach.

The run by the beach did sound tempting, but had a few things planned today, so when I woke at 7.30am I thought it’s probably best to just get it done.

A steady 3.8 mile loop of the village.

I was accompanied on my run today by Lily Allen.

That’s two weeks done – still going strong.
