‘A Case of Life and Limb’ by Sally Smith

Following A Case of Mice and Murder, this is another great book by Sally Smith,

Set in London 1901, a mummified hand is delivered to the Temple Treasurer. Gabriel Ward KC with Constable Wright, are tasked with solving the case.

Definitely worth a read.

‘Dear Martin’ by Nic Stone

Teenage fiction – although it might actually be adult fiction – it was in the book cupboard at school. Feels like teenage fiction.

It follows Justyce, a black high school student from Atlanta, who gets shot by a white officer duty police officer. Justyce survives but his best friend is killed.

He starts a journal to Dr Martin Luther King Jr, to try to make sense of everything that is happening.

It’s a good read. Apparently based loosely on the murder of Jordan Davis in 2012.

‘Run Forever’ by Damian Hall

This is an interesting read for any runners in midlife.

Hall explores what it takes to carry on running into old age, from nutrition and training, through to stretching and mental health, and everything in between.

We don’t stop running because we get old. We get old because we stop running.

I’m definitely taking on board some ideas going forward.

Definitely worth a read.

‘The Night She Disappeared’ by Lisa Jewell

A pretty solid thriller: I liked it.

Sophie moves with her boyfriend to the country and finds a sign that says ‘Dig Here’ nailed to her fence. What she finds reopens the case of a young girl who went missing.

Well worth a read.
