Project365 #35

Today’s picture? School swimming pool changing room. Why? Well, firstly, Wednesday after school is normally a 30 min swim session. However, today it didn’t happen.

Let me explain….

After getting changed and entering the pool area it felt a little cooler than normal, there wasn’t the usual wall of warm air that hits you. I sat on the side of the pool to get in and it felt a lot colder than normal. After getting in the pool it definitely felt a lot colder than normal. After 5 mins of swimming, something didn’t seem right, I don’t know if it smelt a bit strange, or felt it lacked a bit of a chlorine. But something was definitely up. Tried another 5 mins but then abandoned it.

It was definitely a bit cooler than usual, not sure if the rest of it was all in my head, but either way, it didn’t happen.

Project365 #32

I’ve been vegan for quite a while; but never really fully embraced tofu.

I’ve tried cooking with it a few times, and eaten it when out a number of times, but, for whatever reason, it has never become a staple part of my diet.

That is, until today. Today I experienced scrambled tofu. Only just remembered to take a picture.

I found the recipe online, but did a bit of tweaking.

Ingredients:

  • Half a block of tofu
  • Bit of olive oil
  • Bit of turmeric
  • Bit of nutritional yeast
  • Would have had some black salt in it if I could have found it at the supermarket

Method:

  • Crumble the tofu and fry it in the olive oil for a bit
  • Add the other stuff and fry it some more

Boom.

Not quite sure how we’ve got to the 71st day of the year, but here’s today’s picture:

The gym I go to has finally starting to update the machines. It’s a bit of an old school gym, lots of weights, lots of mirrors, and lots of machines that are slowly beginning to fall apart.

So it was quite a surprise when I discovered two new cross-trainers: touchscreens, internet connected and very swanky. I’m looking forward to some new treadmills, which are apparently, on the way.

#project365 #62 Rutland Water Run

I’ve done lots of running at Rutland Water, but this morning was the first time I’ve actually run completely around it. 15 miles. It was a pretty miserable morning: grey and drizzly. In my head I was expecting it to have been nearer 17 miles, so after running for an hour or so in the rain it was nice to reach the car and head home.

Next time I’ll include the peninsula.
