Beep….

Project365 #159

Another new system for going in and out of school. We are now barcoded and have to scan it whenever we enter or leave. The fact that I have to walk past my classroom to get to the scanning point is a bit annoying, but it also means I can include the extra mileage in Juneathon.

Talking of Juneathon. Today's exercise was at the gym:

  • 15min cross-trainer
  • 2000m row
  • 15min cross-trainer

Juneathon totals after day 8:

  • 7.4 mile runs
  • 14.35 mile cross-training
  • 171 press-ups
  • 485 sec planks
  • 4000m row
  • 2 extra walks between classroom and reception

Due a treat….

I know, it's only day 4 of Juneathon, but I deserve a treat.

It was a trip to the gym again, with the now usual bit of cross-training to avoid aggravating the calf muscle. But I also did a 10 min on the rowing machine to mix it up a bit. Following by 109 sec plank when I got in.

My reward….and #155 in Project365….

Juneathon totals after day 4:

  • 2 mile run
  • 10.23 mile cross-train
  • 69 press-ups
  • 376 sec planks
  • 2000m row

Exciting times…. #juneathon #project365

Now if I was a slacker I could very easily have used my 'clearing of the cupboard' in my classroom as today's Juneathon activity: I did plenty of climbing up and down on the chair; lugging folders that haven't seen the light of day for years; and filling various black bags. But I did better than that.

I did, however, use it as today's Project365 entry….

Project365 #154

As for my 'official' Juneathon activity, I'd like to enter 35min on the cross-trainer at the gym, 26 press-ups and 109sec plank. Lovely jubbly.

Juneathon Totals after Day 3:

  • 2 mile run
  • 7.13 mile cross-train
  • 69 press-ups
  • 267 sec planks

In other news….I have a fantastic new blog header to celebrate Juneathon. Designed by Amy Sarfas Designs.

#Juneathon Day 2 plus a bit of Project365 action…

It was windy today.

Exercise was a gentle 30 min run round the woods (trying not to aggravate calf muscle) avoiding falling trees, followed by some other bits and pieces in the relative safety of home.

Today’s picture was the sight that greeted me when I left this morning. The wind had literally ripped through the town. Worse than anything you’d see on TV….

Today’s exercise:
  • 2 mile run
  • 23 press-ups
  • 89 sec plank

Janathon Totals:

  • 2 mile run
  • 2.78 mile cross-train
  • 43 press-ups
  • 158 sec planks

Project365 #83

Today you are in for a treat. Not only do you get another daily picture that shows what an exciting life I lead, but you also get to listen to me waffle on about music.

What's brought this on I hear you say. Well actually it was a spam email. Let me explain…

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from a company called Vinyl Me, Please who were inviting me to subscribe to their service. It turns out their service is rather interesting: limited edition LP, original artwork print plus a custom cocktail recipe (not quite sure about the cocktail recipe). You have no idea what the LP will be; it could be anything from rap to jazz to country to funk. The price you pay for the subscription? $38 per month. Yep, you're right, USA only – unless you want to whack another $20 for delivery.

Now, I like a bit of vinyl, it's not the only form of music I buy, far from it – I love a CD, download through iTunes, streaming through Spotify, I've even got bloody cassettes – but like I said, I like a bit of vinyl, so I was interested.

So I googled it, well to be precise, I googled 'vinyl subscription uk'. What did the mighty Google come up with? Well a few bits and pieces. But this company caught my eye: Wax & Stamp.

Now may be a good time to insert today's Project365. Just going off on a tangent: 83 days into 2015 already?!…

So what is Wax & Stamp all about? Well it is a vinyl subscription service based in the UK. For £26 per month you get a couple of LPs (or a LP and an EP) – one chosen by the company, one chosen by some guest selector. You have no control over what is sent – all you know is that it will be a new release – but it could be pretty much anything.

Sounds interesting – but I'm still undecided.

It doesn't often happen, but today I was faced with a plethora of pictures that could all have made the coveted 'picture of the day'.

A visit to the Garden Centre for a coffee and a browse resulted in the discovery of dog food at £2.49 a tin…

But that was not amazing enough to make 'picture of the day'.

Whilst having a coffee I even had time to solve a couple of issues I'm having with Microsoft Word – they have one of those handy 'book swap' schemes. Although as the book was virtually 20 years out of date, I had a few problems finding the correct icon when I got home…

But that was not amazing enough to make 'picture of the day'.

I managed to get a bit of work done early today, meaning we were free to hit the pub for some grub come the evening. And for desert, 'Neopolitan Belgium Waffle'…

But that was not amazing enough to make 'picture of the day'.

And what made it? Well, Sunday night is the new Saturday night….may I present Project365 #67…

….it had to be didn't it.
