Janathon Day 4

It was a late run. First proper day – kids all back. Felt a bit hectic at times.

Completely dark once I got out, plus the headtorch was slowly fading as the run went on. At one stage I nearly broke an ankle by running into a speed bump! There was a small post indicating a speed bump was there – although I didn’t put two and two together at the time.

Felt pretty tired on the run, which I’m putting down to first full day of teaching for a couple of weeks. 3.7 mile run. Done.

Today’s Bob Ross:

You should be able to see me sitting on floor following speed bump incident.

Day 15 RED January

24min home yoga session via the ‘daily yoga’ app.

My first experience of a bit of yoga. I found it quite hard work. It’s very difficult trying to stay relaxed when she is telling you to: engage your thighs, keep your back straight, push into your heals, pull in your abs, retain your balance, and other equally impossible things.

Having said all that, I can see why yoga is popular. I think once you know the poses and can do them correctly, then you can focus more on breathing and relaxing, and it probably becomes more enjoyable. I like the whole calmness of it.

I’m not about to become a yoga guru, but I think I can manage at least one yoga session a week.

Parents’ evening.

This does cause some issues if you are trying to be more active every day. What is the likely hood of staying at school until 8pm and then going out for a run once home? Zero.

That is why, incredibly, I was up and out the door at 6am this morning! Early morning runs are not really my cup of tea, but needs must and all that…

Smashed it.
