Juneathon Day 26

So…4 days to go…I’m just about hanging in.

Today’s run was a 5-miler in the late afternoon.

Next weekend is the Suffolk Trail Festival where I’m entered into the 24hr race. The race comprises of as many 5 mile loops as you can do, so thought I better run 5 miles.

It felt ok – so I think I can run at least one in 24 hours!!!

Juneathon Totals:

Running = 19 days: 80.3 miles

Gym Sessions = 6

Cycling = 1 day: 7 miles

Juneathon Day 25

Like yesterday, It was another early morning start, only difference this morning: it was raining.

Taking shelter for a photo.

I had a look at the weather forecast last night and it said it would be raining; so I was prepared. Although looking at the window when the alarm went off and seeing it didn’t exactly feel me with joy.

But it was done. 4 miles in the rain.

Just 5 days to go…

Juneathon Totals:

Running = 18 days: 75.1 miles

Gym Sessions = 6

Cycling = 1 day: 7 miles

Juneathon Day 24

A day at school followed by parents’ evening – which means it was an early run this morning. Up and out before 6am.

3 gentle miles. Definitely wasn’t feeling it when I stepped outside: I was tired and a bit achy from yesterday’s gym session. But after the first mile or so I was feeling slightly better. In the end it got done. Which is exactly what it’s about.

Also bagged myself ANOTHER Strava badge – no idea what it actually is. But I’ve got it!

Juneathon Totals:

Running = 17 days: 71.1 miles

Gym Sessions = 6

Cycling = 1 day: 7 miles

Juneathon Day 23

Gym session.

Lots of different exercises: squats, shoulder presses, chest presses, sit-ups, press-ups, planks, blah blah blah….with loads of burpees thrown in just for fun!

Knackering.

Water was needed!

Juneathon Totals:

Running = 16 days: 68 miles

Gym Sessions = 6

Cycling = 1 day: 7 miles

Juneathon Day 22

Only 8 days left. That sounds good.

Today’s run was in two parts.

Part one with Amy: a lap of Bourne woods. Nice chatty 3 miles.

Part two was solo: another lap of Bourne Woods. Only this time I ran it faster.

It was a lovely evening.
Came across this weird sacrificial dish.

Also bagged myself another Strava badge:

Juneathon Totals:

Running = 16 days: 68 miles

Gym Sessions = 5

Cycling = 1 day: 7 miles

Book 14 of 2021

The Haven by Simon Lelic

This is another book aimed at teenagers. In the same sort of mould as Stormbreaker, Hunger Games, that sort of thing.

This is the first in a series of books all about modern street kids living in London in a secret location. It is all about the kids protecting each other, championing justice, and generally stopping adults doing bad things.

An exciting read for any 11 or 12-year-old; fast-paced, full of action and the odd twist to keep everyone on their toes.
