Day 6 #juneathon

I’ve now run every day of the month, and more importantly, blogged every day also.

However, I’ve actually ran every day for the last 20; in that time covering about 75 miles.

Today’s run, after getting out of work as soon as possible, was a gentle couple of miles at the woods with the dogs. I say dogs because at the moment we’re dog sitting an extra one.

This is Billy, he is our dog. He’s 13 years old, deaf and recently retired from joining me on runs. Although a couple of gentle miles is doable for him. What a majestic beast.

This is Fudge, she is 5 years old and is a freaking crazy yob and is definitely not our dog. If she isn’t barging Billy out the way, she’s trying to trip me up. A total nightmare.

Today’s mileage = 2

Total Juneathon mileage = 17

Day 5 #juneathon

It was a lovely evening when I got in from work so it wasn’t particularly hard to force myself out the door. Today’s run: two and a half miles to a local village and back. 5 miles in all.

It’s all still looking rather good on paper. Not sure if it will still look as good tomorrow.

Total Juneathon mileage = 15

Run streak = 19 days

Day 4 #juneathon

It was the first visit to the gym for a while…

Treadmill. Progressively quicker. 4 miles in total.

I’m also keeping the rather lovely Juneathon symmetry going:

  • Day 1 – 1 mile
  • Day 2 – 2 miles
  • Day 3 – 3 miles
  • Day 4 – 4 miles

Total Juneathon mileage = 10

Day 3 #juneathon

After yesterday’s Nottingham shenanigans any sort of run today would be impressive.

Prepare to be impressed.

After finally getting home the majority of the day was spent here:

I finally dragged myself off the sofa early evening to get the run done. 3 miles via the allotment for a bit of watering.

A pretty poor start in terms of mileage, although if things carry on like this, it will be a mighty monthly mileage.

  • Day 1 – 1 mile
  • Day 2 – 2 miles
  • Day 3 – 3 miles

On a side note, I’m actually 17 days into a run streak.

Juneathon mileage = 6

Day 1 #juneathon

Here we go again.

It’s that time of year again: Juneathon. A chance to invigorate your running. A chance to pledge to doing a little bit more than normal. A chance to attempt to run for every day of the month of June. It also means a whole month of these ridiculous blog posts.

If you’re unsure about this whole Juneathon thing, give it a goggle and all will be revealed.

I love Juneathon. I don’t always complete the challenge (in fact, I rarely ever do) but I just love a challenge.

What’s different this time round is that I enter the game on the back of a bit of a run streak – 14 days up to today – I’m feeling motivated and ready to do it.

Today was a busy day and I wanted to get the run done and dusted. Yesterday was 7 miles on the streets of Bourne, so it was one solitary mile first thing this morning. Done.
