Juneathon Day 6

Nearly a week done and it’s been ok.

6 days.

6 runs.

Helped of course by the fact that I’ve been on half-term. It might not be so easy to fit the runs in next week.

It was a beautiful morning; I was out the door before 8am. Ended up doing 10km. Strava badge earned.

Plus a surprise ‘Chase the Sun – Buff Challenge’ badge – I went click crazy on Strava challenges – don’t ask.

Anyway, it turns out I get 30% off Buff products. I only thought Buff did those headband thingies that you get free at races. It turns out they do lots of other stuff too. Although…

I’ve deleted email.

Juneathon Totals:

Running = 24.4 miles

Juneathon Day 5

Well, after complaining about yesterday’s rain, we were greeted with a fabulous sunny warm day today.

It was a lovely late afternoon run. I’m keeping up my minimum 5km run each day.

Saw a couple of lovely looking trees.

And on return…I had a vegan pasty. Nice.

Juneathon Totals:

Running = 18.0 miles

Juneathon Day 4

It was one of those ‘should have gone for a morning run’ run. By the afternoon it was raining and looked to be set in for the rest of the day.

So it was a run in the rain. That’s dedication to Juneathon.

It started of reasonably light, but by the end it was pretty heavy. I was tempted to empty out this fella’s ‘planter’ and use it for the last half mile.

Juneathon Totals:

Running = 14.8 miles

Juneathon Day 3

It was an early morning run. Wanted to avoid a late run in the sun – it was forecasted to be another warm day.

When running every day you do need to be quite disciplined. Best to have a plan.

So a 3 mile run was done before 8am. It was warm enough at that time in the morning. So a good decision was made.

Cushty.

Juneathon Totals:

Running: 11.7 miles.

In other news…this is very exciting…

Juneathon Day 2

It was a lovely afternoon.

In fact, it was scorchio.

When I rounded the corner and saw the farmer was watering the crops I was tempted to take a detour and run through the spray. Before realising he was also probably pumping insecticides, herbicides, and various other pesticides with the water. So gave it a miss.

My reward for completing day two of Juneathon? A tutti frutti cider.

Juneathon Totals:

Running = 8.6 miles

Book 12 of 2021

The Players by Darren O’Sullivan

Great read. Darren O’Sullivan just gets better and better. A clever idea for a novel – definitely worth a read!

Made all the more interesting by being based in and around Peterborough – not sure I’d be walking around the city during the evening in the near future!

You are forced to play their game.
