Day 8 #juneathon

Just a couple of gentle miles at the woods with the dog.

It’s Runstock tomorrow – 8 hour obstacle challenge – so I’m hoping the low mileage over the last few days might be good for the legs. How many 5k laps can you do in the time? Last year I completed 8 laps or 40k.

Hoping to do 50k this year.

Total Juneathon mileage = 20

Total runstreak = 22 days

Day 7 #juneathon #runstreak

Today was a one single mile kinda day. For a variety of reasons:

  • It was a long day today at school – the final lessons with Y11s before they take their exam and leave. I felt knackered when I got in.
  • Didn’t get out the door for the run until after dinner and I wanted to watch the England game, so it had to reasonably short.
  • On Saturday I’m attending Runstock to see how many miles I can run in 8 hours, so probably best to take it a bit easy.

Although the most important reason was to get in and sort out my predictions for Mrs Marples’ amazing World Cup football competition:

It is causing me lots of stress. Initially I had Brazil out at the semis, now I’ve got them winning it.

Even though we are only into the 7th day of Juneathon, I’m actually on a 21 day runstreak up till now. Feeling strong. In fact, tonight’s run could have gone on for much longer, but forced myself to stop.

Today’s mileage = 1

Total Juneathon mileage = 18

Day 6 #juneathon

I’ve now run every day of the month, and more importantly, blogged every day also.

However, I’ve actually ran every day for the last 20; in that time covering about 75 miles.

Today’s run, after getting out of work as soon as possible, was a gentle couple of miles at the woods with the dogs. I say dogs because at the moment we’re dog sitting an extra one.

This is Billy, he is our dog. He’s 13 years old, deaf and recently retired from joining me on runs. Although a couple of gentle miles is doable for him. What a majestic beast.

This is Fudge, she is 5 years old and is a freaking crazy yob and is definitely not our dog. If she isn’t barging Billy out the way, she’s trying to trip me up. A total nightmare.

Today’s mileage = 2

Total Juneathon mileage = 17

Day 5 #juneathon

It was a lovely evening when I got in from work so it wasn’t particularly hard to force myself out the door. Today’s run: two and a half miles to a local village and back. 5 miles in all.

It’s all still looking rather good on paper. Not sure if it will still look as good tomorrow.

Total Juneathon mileage = 15

Run streak = 19 days

Day 4 #juneathon

It was the first visit to the gym for a while…

Treadmill. Progressively quicker. 4 miles in total.

I’m also keeping the rather lovely Juneathon symmetry going:

  • Day 1 – 1 mile
  • Day 2 – 2 miles
  • Day 3 – 3 miles
  • Day 4 – 4 miles

Total Juneathon mileage = 10

Day 3 #juneathon

After yesterday’s Nottingham shenanigans any sort of run today would be impressive.

Prepare to be impressed.

After finally getting home the majority of the day was spent here:

I finally dragged myself off the sofa early evening to get the run done. 3 miles via the allotment for a bit of watering.

A pretty poor start in terms of mileage, although if things carry on like this, it will be a mighty monthly mileage.

  • Day 1 – 1 mile
  • Day 2 – 2 miles
  • Day 3 – 3 miles

On a side note, I’m actually 17 days into a run streak.

Juneathon mileage = 6
