Janathon Day 25

Full day teaching followed by an intervention session meant it was a treadmill run when I got in. Wasn’t really feeling a run in the dark.

Even the treadmill was against me tonight. After a little while the treadmill suddenly went really slow and wouldn’t change speed. After a lot of pressing buttons it did finally speed up again only to do this another couple of times.

I went with it. It felt good to have a little walk.

3.1 slow miles in total.

Janathon Day 24

Tonight’s run, delayed because of the rain yesterday, was an interval session on the school field.

I used the cross-country lap that is easy to follow because of the footsteps of hundreds of students who have been running and walking around it over the last couple of weeks. The lap is just about half a mile, maybe a smidge under.

7 laps in all, 3 fast. Definitely got the heart beating.

Another 3.1 miles onto the monthly total.

91.7 miles so far.

Janathon Day 23

I’m still going…

Today’s initial plan was a run directly after school on the school field. I was thinking another interval run. That was all scuppered at the end of the day by the rain.

So I headed home to jump on the treadmill for half hour.

Ended up doing 35mins and 3.7 miles. Done.

Hoping to get outside for a run tomorrow. I’ll take my kit to school and see what happens.

Janathon Day 22

Still going. I have run every day of the month so far.

Today’s run was the regular little 3 mile loop. I do this run a lot. Sometimes clockwise, sometimes anti-clockwise, sometimes fast, sometimes steady and sometimes very slow. Today’s was: a steady anti-clockwise loop.

Day 22. Done.

Janathon Day 21

3 weeks done.

Today’s run was a cold and windy one. Ran out of the village for half hour and then turned round and ran back. 6.8 miles.

It was a lovely run, I had wrapped up well, so felt toasty warm for the majority of it.

Total so far = 81.8 miles

Janathon Day 20

Ironic (adjective) happening in a way that contrary to what is expected, and typically causing wry amusement because of this.

Avid followers of this blog will know that yesterday I may have mentioned that I was going to do parkrun this morning.

I didn’t.

I woke up on time, I can’t use that as an excuse. My pathetic excuse was that it looked really cold out. Plus we had quite a busy day full of stuff, so a slow start to the morning sounded just fine.

I did of course go for a run today, it’s day 20 of Janathon and I’m determined to run every day. So instead of parkrun I did 5km on the treadmill.

What’s ironic about that you ask?

I listened to a podcast on the treadmill: The Outdoors Fix.
