One week down… #janathon

Janathon Day 7

A long day at school that went something like this: early start to finish some marking; followed by a full day of teaching, including a lesson with my lovely Y11s producing some hilarious role-play characters; followed by a late finish inputting data.

Therefore it was a late night pounding the streets of Bourne.

That's is one week done!

Today's mileage = 3.29

Total Janathon mileage = 31.69

The last few days have been all about the marking…early morning marking….

C/D borderline.

Day 3 #janathon #project365

Janathon Day 3

I woke up to a miserable morning in Lincolnshire. I had plans to attend a parkrun, but that never happened, due to the fact that I didn't actually wake-up until 9.30am. But with parkrun in mind I decided to get straight out and do a fast few miles. And that is exactly what I did; I hit the streets of Bourne.

The dog was disappointed that I didn't take him to the woods with me for the run – but I wanted to avoid the rain that was on its way – he didn't speak to me for the rest of the day.

Today's mileage = 2.92

Total Janathon mileage = 12.48

Today's photo is pipe work. Not just any old pipe work, but the sort that leaks, the sort that has leaked in the past, the sort that ends up taking over your life. Argh!!! The day has been punctuated with calls to various plumbers in an attempt to get it sorted. The lovely Shaun will be round on Monday to take a look.

In other news….back to work on Monday.

Round and round we go….

Janathon Day 12

I went to bed last night with the idea that I would get up early (ish) and complete a run round the woods with the dog. This didn't happen. After waking up at 11am the plan was to have a quick cuppa and then get the run done. This didn't happen. Instead I created a beautiful fry-up and then went shopping.

It wasn't until 4.30pm that I finally got my arse into gear. Pressure was on, the darts was on at 5.45pm. I do like a bit of darts, ridiculous nicknames and cliche after cliche. So pounding the streets of Bourne was the answer. I didn't want to venture too far so decided on trying to run along every street, avenue, way, close, walk, crescent, and road on the estate. I really didn't know what I was doing, the place is like a rabbit's warren*. Any Tom, Dick or Harry** would get lost. First half of the run was ok, I knew roughly were I was going. But it was a game of two halves*** and it all got very confusing in the second half. But, I think it was a pretty good effort….

5 miles in total.

Total Janathon mileage = 44.29

Janathon Day 9…or maybe Takeawayathon

A late run tonight because by the time I got home from work I wanted food! So, after a rather lovely steak and chips, I ventured out for what was going to be a quick mile around the block. Although by the time I got going I decided to go for a 4ish miler (to stay on track to beat last Janathon's mileage). So I headed straight into town and out the other side until I had run 2 miles and then headed back. I very rarely run through town and tonight it struck me exactly how many takeaways there are. In the space of 300 yards I ran past the following takeaway joints:

  • A Chinese
  • A pizza
  • Another pizza
  • A Chippy
  • Another Chinese
  • An Indian
  • Another Chinese
  • As well as 5 pubs/restaurants serving food

This is without the 100s that are on different roads that I didn't run on tonight. For a small market town this does seem a bit extreme, although I am partial to a takeaway, especially on a Friday night, so I suppose I shouldn't complain.

Today's mileage = 4.13

Total Janathon mileage so far = 39.78
