#juneathon day 9

Nineth day in a row and all is going good. With club training tomorrow I'd decided that tonight was going to be a lovely slow run round the woods with the dog – that is exactly what it was. It was a warm evening; would loved to have followed the dog into the pond.

In other news, the nice people at Smugglers Records sent me this….

So have a look at this, you decide….

Day 9 mileage = 3.70

Total Juneathon mileage = 42.69

#juneathon day 7…..the day the treadmill couldn’t keep up with me…

This morning, feeling enthused and energetic, I hit the gym. Little did I know that today would go down in history……

The plan was to do 40mins on the treadmill, increasing speed every 5mins, starting off pretty easy and building up to a fast pace. Well that was the plan….

Started at a pretty easy speed – '10' whatever that means – plus I was on a treadmill that was set at kms. Every 5mins I increased speed and incline so that by 30mins into the run I was at speed '15', which felt quite fast. It which point the treadmill, amazed by my athleticism, decided he couldn't keep up with me and up came the message:

“Could not attain target speed”

Job done! I will now be forever known as the treadminator! Here is said treadmill just before it belched smoke and exploded.

Day 7 mileage = 4.44 (after a nifty bit of converting)

Total Juneathon mileage = 32.50

In other news…..the boy and I started on the Panini World Cup Sticker Album…..

#juneathon day 5

How about a ridiculously beautiful piece of nonsense verse?

The foot went flying through the air,

With the shin attached and looking bare.

The kooky in the tree gave a cry of shoop shoop shoop,

As the donkey drank the massive bowl of hula hoop soup.

Juneathon was here and she wasn't very happy,

So we cut her up and fed her to the billy bong snappy.

Day 5 mileage = 5.16

Total Juneathon mileage = 23.96

#juneathon day 4

Today's run could be summed up in one word: wet. But why use one word when you can add a load of others and create a sonnet.

Juneathon the fourth and it was quite a day,

Teaching and meetings and running club.

Left school pretty early – no overstay,

Straight to the woods, avoided the pub.

Started the run and it was dry and clear,

Five minutes later it was anything but.

I'd wished I'd gone and had that beer,

Cause the rain had started to fall somewhat.

I managed to do a few miles at the wood,

I was totally drenched when back to the car.

As much as I was soaked – it felt quite good,

Which is something I found pretty bizarre.

By five o'clock it was Murray on the box,

And heading for a glass of whiskey on the rocks.

Day 4 mileage = 2.58

Total Juneathon mileage = 18.80
