Juneathon Day 30

Done.

Today’s gym session completed Juneathon.

30 days. 30 activities.

Now two rest days before a 24 hour race at the weekend – run as many 5 mile loops as you can in 24 hours. I’ve no real target or expectations for the race, just going to have a go and see what happens.

Running = 21 days: 88.6 miles

Gym Sessions = 8

Cycling = 1 day: 7 miles

Juneathon Day 29

It was ANOTHER early morning run – these appear to be becoming a bit of a regular thing!

It was the usual slow start to the run; legs were a bit achy from yesterday’s gym session. Also, I tend to try and get to bed a bit earlier the night before – that wasn’t possible with the very exciting footy last night!

The distance I actually felt like running this morning.

It was a bit of a grey morning with the threat of rain in the air. It was a struggle to get going, but once the first half mile was done I felt a lot better. 5km done. Good practice for the weekend’s 24hr shenanigans!

It also means that I’m free to enjoy the footy later without the daily run hanging over my head. Looking forward to Eng-er-land knocking a few goals past the Germans.

The end of Juneathon is on the horizon…

It was the normal gym session. Sweaty and hard work.

So…4 days to go…I’m just about hanging in.

Today’s run was a 5-miler in the late afternoon.

Next weekend is the Suffolk Trail Festival where I’m entered into the 24hr race. The race comprises of as many 5 mile loops as you can do, so thought I better run 5 miles.

It felt ok – so I think I can run at least one in 24 hours!!!

Like yesterday, It was another early morning start, only difference this morning: it was raining.

I had a look at the weather forecast last night and it said it would be raining; so I was prepared. Although looking at the window when the alarm went off and seeing it didn’t exactly feel me with joy.

But it was done. 4 miles in the rain.
