Janathon Day 17 – it’s snow joke…

There are three kinds of people: those who can count and those who can’t.

I’m the first kind: 17 days of Janathon done. Although, more importantly, the first week completed on the marathon training schedule.

This morning I ran along the bypass to the woods and back again, I had to run behind a lot of cars: I was exhausted.

Today a nice gentle 8 miles were the order of the day. There was a very light dusting of snow and it was pretty cold first thing this morning.  Winter: the days of shovelry.

Whilst at the woods I saw a poor old lady fall unconscious in the snow today.

Well, I’m assuming she was poor – she only had 86p in her purse.

It should be ok getting to work in the snow in the morning, just need a bit of grit.

Janathon total = 58.28

Bad jokes = 5

Janathon Day 16 – Rutland Parkrun

We are exactly halfway through this blasted Janathon business. 15 days done. Today. Then just 15 more.

Today was a trip to Rutland Parkrun. It was a cold morning; bright but frosty. There was even a course inspection to ensure it was safe and not too icy.

My marathon training allows me to do Parkrun on Saturdays; a bit of speed work never did anyone any harm. So I was going for it this morning.

Time: 22.57

Place: 26th

It was very cold and frosty underfoot in places, so I was reasonably happy with the time. I felt knackered at 4km – the cold weather had sapped my strength. The good thing about going to Rutland Parkrun is that it’s rarely mega busy, 150 runners this morning, so you don’t have to fight your way through the crowds in the first 200m.

Post-run breakfast:Wetherspoons

Tomorrow: steady longish run.

Nearly forgot the random blog picture…

Janathon Day 15

21 seconds.

No, I’ve not become a So Solid Crew* fan overnight. I’ve merely beaten my previous Janathon plank by 21 seconds. It now stands at 158 seconds.

Although I did pass out in the process, it had been a long day, plank was performed at 10.30pm.

Janathon Day 13 – 137 seconds…

The marathon training schedule takes precedence over Janathon now, and the training schedule says a rest day.

Following 12 days of running, a rest from it sounds great. But it’s Janathon!! Have to do something!

Therefore I did 137 secs of exercise: a plank. Sorted.

A blog without pictures? That’s not right. How about a selfie with the dog…he doesn’t look too impressed…
