Sitting and planning what races to run this year…..
Just for the record, this is being done whilst eating pizza.
Just for general wonderings…
Janathon Day 17
Less than 12 hours since the last run I was at it again. Today I ran along the picturesque seafront taking in the fresh air and morning sun at the woods. I seem to run at the woods a lot. Too much me thinks. Tomorrow I vow to try and run somewhere else. The only reason I run at the woods is so I can take the dog with me and kill two birds with one stone. Big effort to take in some new scenery tomorrow.
This morning's run was pretty uneventful, a big lap on the trails of Bourne Woods: 5 miles. It was a bit foggy this morning, I tried to catch it, mist.
Loads of mud.
I didn't really have a lot planned today so I decided to sort out my snail collection. I took the shell off my racing snail, thinking it would make him faster. If anything, it made him more sluggish. Also, Helen has taken to drawing on her eyebrows, I told her she was drawing them on too high. She looked surprised.
Today's mileage = 5.02
Total Janathon Mileage = 72.28
Janathon Day 16
Today I very nearly fell off the Janathon wagon – I ended up getting home at 10.20pm after what was a very long day.
At 10.29pm I was out the door for a run.
It might only have been a couple or so miles, but it was a run – the sixteenth run in a row. You may say mad. I say dedicated.
Today's mileage = 2.26
Total Janathon mileage = 67.26

Today's picture: leaving school after the end of another long week.
And relax.
Janathon Day 15
Today's run was done around Sleaford – we were invited to the sister-in-law's for something to eat – needs must and all that.
Whilst dinner was cooking I set off into a very cold and windy night. The plan was to do about 2 miles out and then turn round and head back. It was especially hardwork on the way back – running into the wind. I also had the amazing idea to complete a loop of the park as I passed it. With hindsight this was not an amazing idea.
I have never run round this particular park before, it was also dark. Very dark. The idea was to run around the edge – what could possibly go wrong? Well nothing, if you already knew that there was a big ditch running across it. I didn't know this. Suffice to say I ended up in said ditch – I'm just thankful it wasn't full of water and all I had to do was face the brambles to escape.
You can see in the above route of run exactly where the ditch was.
Note to self: do not run in the dark when you don't know where you are.
Today's mileage = 4.09
Total Janathon mileage = 65

Today's picture just had to be the lovely trifle we had for pudding…
Lovely jubbly.
Janathon Day 14
I had taken my kit to school today with the idea I’d be able to do a few miles around the school field at the end of the day. Today went something like this: a morning of teaching; exploration of ‘body image’ in tutor; GCSE booster workshop; followed by a run. Running around the field is probably not the best option on a day like today. It was cold. It was really windy. Hence I struggled. But again, there is something really good about getting run done nice and early. It leaves the evening to relax – except for the pile of Y11 work that needs marking, and the full day of lessons that need planning.
Today, thanks to a discussion in the staff room, I have discovered the wonderful, joyous and moving music of Meghan Trainor*. Also, the perfect way into a discussion about body image. I didn’t realise how deep and meaningful her lyrics are**. The tune declares ‘skinny’ as over-rated and celebrates men and women of all shapes and sizes. Apparently, it’s all ’bout that bass!
Today’s mileage = 3.28
Total Janathon mileage = 60.91
* This is a lie, not a little white lie, but a massive lie. A lie that is as big as a huge thing.
** Sarcasm in action.

I like reading teenage fiction. Recently I read ‘The Maze Runner’ – fab book. So I’ve got the next couple to read….
Wicked is good.
