Day 15 #juneathon

Halfway through Juneathon and just about managing to keep it going.

Tonight’s run, in between the World Cup games, was a little local 4-miler. On the trails and through the woods.

It’s a busy weekend ahead – my mum’s 75th birthday party – so heading down to London on the National Express. The plan is to get a very early run done first thing.

Today’s mileage = 4

Total Juneathon mileage = 59 running, 24 cycling and some gym action.

Day 14 #juneathon

It was another lovely evening. I had pretty much decided that I was going to head to the woods for a run on the trails, but at the last moment I changed my mind. Tonight was another bike night.

I’m still in the process of working out some sort of summer cycling challenge, so I’m starting to get a few miles in the saddle. Also trying to work out how far I can realistically cycle in a day.

Today: 10.7 miles in 75 mins – legs felt ok – it was also a mix of terrains and undulations. Pretty happy.

Total Juneathon mileage = 55 miles running, 24 miles cycling plus some gym action.

Day 12 #juneathon

After a couple of days on the bike it was back to a bit of running tonight.

The dog is supposed to have retired from running, but as I got ready to go out the dog got very excited thinking it was time for walkies. So I caved in and took him with me, I was only planning on a short gentle run anyway.

We did 4 miles at the woods, out and back. I did, of course, have to wait for him quite a bit.

Today’s mileage = 4

Total Juneathon mileage = 55 running and 13 cycling

Day 10 #juneathon

My 23 day runstreak has come to an end. I didn’t run today. Yesterday’s 50k run at Runstock left my legs feeling pretty tired.

However, that doesn’t mean that Juneathon has come to an end. Oh no. Today I got the bike out!

It was good to get on the bike, it was a lovely afternoon and I had a gentle 6 miles in and around Bourne.

I’ve been thinking for a while of setting myself a summer challenge in the form of a bike ride. I’ve a couple ideas:

  • 100 mile cycle. I’d love to be able to cycle 100 miles in a day.
  • Some sort of cycle trip. I’ve been thinking about a short trip – nothing to difficult – not quite ready for a cycle trip across Europe just yet.

So I do plan to get the bike out a bit more often. As for the running, the next thing on the agenda is Endure24 at Leeds towards the end of the month. A 24 hour race completing as many 5 mile loops as you can in the time.

Today = 6 mile bike ride

Total Juneathon = 51 miles running and 6 miles cycling.
